Hailing from Massachusetts, the virtual metal and hardcore capital of North America, Unearth bring a new sense of talent with charismatic riffs, thought provoking lyrics and pummeling breakdowns. Unearth masterfully combine an intoxicating mix of American and European metal with hardcore ethic and punch. This unique approach makes Unearth one of the most abrasive, commanding and emotionally charged groups in the underground scene today.

Formed in 1998, Unearth has accomplished more on their own than most bands can do with full support of a label and press. Constant tours across the US, Canada, and Europe helped the band build one of the strongest fan bases around gaining them the recognition and respect that the band had worked so hard to accomplish. In just the last two years Unearth has added to their list of major accomplishments a sold out headlining tour with Terror, and The Black Dahlia Murder in support, a main support slot for the sold out tour with Atreyu that also went over seas to Australia and Japan, a cross Canadian tour with Slipknot and Killswitch Engage, a US tour with Slipknot and As I Lay Dying, a second stage spot on the infamous Ozzfest 2004 as well as the Headbangers Ball tour in the fall of 2004 with Hatebreed and Damage Plan, a sold out club tour with The Dillinger Escape Plan as direct support and Zao. Unearth also spent plenty of time in Europe on tours like the Eastpack Resistance tour featuring Sick of it All, and as main support to Lamb of God, as well as some of Europe’s largest metal and hard rock festivals like Rock am Ring, Rock Am Park, and the Download fest. Unearth put forth such an energetic and heartfelt live show that they have gathered reverence from their peers as well as admiration from the fans. As if all this weren’t enough the band held the coveted main support slot on last summer’s most buzzed about tour: The Sounds of the Underground packing in every arena the tour stopped at. With a line-up that boasted such heavyweights as Lamb of God, Clutch, Poison the Well, GWAR and many more, thousands of un-expecting metalheads experienced the blood curdling effect of Unearth's unparalleled live performance.

Unearth unleashed their highly anticipated album “The Oncoming Storm”, recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA with producer Adam D. of Killswitch Engage fame, on June 29 2004 to unprecedented response from fans and media alike and has already scanned over 125K domestically. Fans of Unearth heard more evolved and mature music this time around with more breakdowns and heavier metal. Since the albums release the band has landed major coverage in some of today’s best magazines like Revolver Magazine where vocalist Trevor Phipps was featured on the cover of the summer touring issue along with metal greats such as Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, and Zakk Wylde, as well as up and comers like label mate Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying, Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage, Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God, and Brian Fair of Shadows Fall (Summer ’05). Other magazines that have picked up on Unearth’s prominence in today’s metal scene and given the band much deserved attention are Rolling Stone, Guitar World, Alternative Press, Terrorizer, Decibel, Metal Maniacs, Bass Guitar, Guitar Player, Hit Parader, Metal Edge, Outburn, CMJ, and countless regional magazines and papers. Unearth also took over the airwaves as all four of their videos received major attention on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball (where the band has already hosted the show many times), FUSE TV’s Uranium and Metal Asylum, and Music Choice.

Enter 2006; Unearth has joined forces with legendary producer Terry Date to produce (and mix) their next opus for Metal Blade Records due out on August 8th, 2006. Tracking began on March 8th with Terry Date (Soundgarden, White Zombie, Pantera, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam) at Studio X in Seattle, WA. Unearth vocalist Trevor Phipps states, “If anyone were to tell me (when I was a kid) that one day my band was going to be doing a record with the guy that produced most of the Pantera, Deftones and Soundgarden records; I would have told them they were crazy. Working with Terry Date is another amazing feat for us on a growing list of accomplishments. We have toured with Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Slayer and with Vinnie and Dime. We have toured much of the world and e have shared the stage with all of the current heavy music leaders on all of the big modern-day tours; and now, we are working with the leader of heavy music‘s producer and engineer, Terry Date. Unearth will forever sound like Unearth and we know Terry has an knack for bringing out the best qualities and sounds in the bands he works with and we could not be more stoked to work with him. There is no question that this next record will be our best to date “

Known for raising the bar; Unearth are prepared to release their new album on August 8th and this highly anticipated recording will be the blueprint for setting the standard for Metal and beyond. Look out!

    Trevor Phipps – Vocals
    Ken Susi – Guitars
    Buz McGrath – Guitars
    John Maggard – Bass
    Mike Justian – Drums
