Over the course of the past two decades, The Tragically Hip have consistently proven their ability to deliver songs and albums that resonate in a special way as is evidenced by their sales of over 6 million albums in their native country of Canada alone! “World Container” is no exception. In fact it demonstrates that they are back, sounding energized and totally contemporary in 2006. Produced by Bob Rock, the album features rockers like “The Lonely End Of The Rink”, instant classics like the title track, and one of the catchiest songs they have ever committed to plastic, the first single, “In View”.
The Hip will kick off their American tour with 5 shows supporting The Who. We anticipate playing well over 100 concerts coast to coast and have either just performed or have interest in many high profile festivals such as Sasquatch, ACL Festival, Bonnaroo Music Festival and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The first US single, 'In View' has already received early spins on WXRT Chicago, WEQX Albany, WQXA Harrisburg, WBER New York, WLKK Buffalo, CKEY Niagara Falls, WOTT Watertown and WTKW Syracuse.
