When the Sam Roberts band set out to create 'Chemical City,' they weren't just looking to make a record, they set out to create a rock masterpiece. Coming on the heels of a debut album that vaulted the Montreal based rockers into the spotlight -- a triumph of "unpretentious, scrappy rock and roll" according to Rolling Stone -- the band's newest album 'Chemical City' delivers with urgency and punch.

Set for release in the U.S. on May 16th (Secret Brain/Fontana), 'Chemical City' features Roberts, Dave Nugent on lead guitar, James Hall on bass, Eric Fares on guitars/keyboards and drummer Josh Trager on ten new tracks that summon influences ranging from the grit and power of The Clash and Pablo Honey-era Radiohead to the ambition and everyman lyrcism of the best 70's album rockers.
