To say Rockie Lynne came out of nowhere is pretty close to the truth. Unlike most Country artists, he didn’t take a direct path to Nashville. Other than a six-year stint in the Army, playing guitar is the only job he’s ever had. For over a decade he functioned as lead guitarist/bandleader for others before making the transition to fulltime frontman in the late ‘90s. Lynne eventually set up a home base outside of Minneapolis, MN and started to perform his own material at local clubs.
The path that led him to Universal Music Group’s Kevin Law and Doug Morris reads like a Hollywood screenplay. Lynne was discovered purely by chance in a small tavern in the Midwest when his now manager Bruce Larson walked in, decided the singer was too good to be ignored and brought Rockie Lynne to the attention of the largest music company in the world.
