Before Tom Petty went solo and put together The Heartbreakers, he was in a band from Florida called Mudcrutch. He's reunited that lineup for an album and tour. Heartbreakers' guitarist Mike Campbell and keyboard player Benmont Tench were part of the original group, and they're involved in this project too.

The other two guys, Tom Leadon and Randall Marsh left the music biz years ago, so this is their time to shine, thanks to their ol' buddy Tom.

The self-titled Mudcrutch album, with 14 brand new songs, will be released on April 29th. The tour will only hit cities in California, kicking off in Malibu on April 12th and ending with four shows at The Troubadour in Los Angeles. Those shows will probably be recorded for a live album and DVD.
