It isn’t just every day that a band wins a regional competition with a recording contract as the grand prize. But Atlanta based alternative rock band Illbreak did just that with Imprint Records’ “Search for the Next Rock Star” contest held last summer. Imprint Records is the label owned and operated by 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell and his wife, Jennifer. After sifting through over a thousand entries for the competition spanning six states and representing 11 rock radio stations, 11 finalists were selected and Illbreak was the unanimous choice selected by the panel of judges made up of several industry veterans, including major label A&R reps.
