Usually, “side projects” offer an outlet for renowned rockers to explore sounds and approaches that they are not normally affiliated with. Case in point, GOON MOON. Led by Jeordie White, better known as Twiggy Ramirez to Marilyn Manson fans and current bassist for Nine Inch Nails, and Chris Goss, record producer and singer for Masters Of Reality. These two started jamming together and penning songs for fun. At one of these sessions White brought along Zach Hill of Hella to join in. With no expectations or pressure from a record label, the trio recorded a vast amount of songs by early 2005. From this pool of songs, they assembled a ten-track EP, ‘I Got A Brand New Egg Layin’ Machine’ (whose title comes from an episode of the TV show Green Acres), released on Sucide Squeeze in June of 2005.
