In fall of 2006, America was introduced to a little British band called Fields. Born in a suburban English garden shed and cultivated in the sprawl of the capital, Fields set themselves apart from other British rock bands immediately.
While acoustic guitars sometimes bring up images of weepy sentimentalists, Fields choose instead to create an alchemy of folk tendencies with a blistering guitar squalor, distorted bass and ascending, twisting keyboards. On top of it all were the harmonies – dense, beautiful Technicolor voices blooming against the racket behind them.
