The song 'Calabria' with the iconic saxophone hook was originally made by Rune Reilly Kölsch in 2002 and released in 2003, creating a massive underground hit. But the potential of the track was never realized. That is until the spring of 2006 when Rune's half brother, Johannes Torpe, got the idea to produce the track in a ragga version with Rune's permission. On a late night in May, vocalist Natasja came to the studio and soon they had created a tribute to the original that would take Europe by storm. 'Calabria 2007 feat. Natasja', has become one of the most air-played songs of 2007 and continues to enter into new territories around the world.
With the success of this first ENUR single, the creative half brothers have decided to create a full-length album together under the alias ENUR. The album will include the hit 'Calabria 2007', and the remaining 10 tracks on the forthcoming album will be just as infectious, featuring major artists from both Europe and USA. The brothers are natural performers and with the impending success of ENUR, they will perform nothing short of fantastic Live and DJ performances throughout the US. This album will also serve as the best tribute to the vocalist behind the Calabria 2007 track, Natasja, whom tragically passed away in 2007.
The brothers are diverse artists covering so many areas in both music and design. Their design company is a worldwide brand with offices in Denmark, UK and Italy. They have agents in every corner of the world, and within the last year alone have been the design duo behind projects including restaurants in Beijing to signature travel bags in Italy, mobile phones in Taiwan to Tableware in Scandinavia, furniture in Denmark to the art direction of the Japanese jean brand EVISU, and so much more. They have achieved the highest honor designers may receive, the Royal Danish Design Prize 2007 for their sofa; Mormor. Their work is published in over 200 books and they are often described as the new Scandinavian superstar designers.
With their Irish/Danish and German roots, music plays just as big of a role in their lives as design has.
They have released music under different names for over a decade and apart from the ENUR project, their new album under the alias Artificial Funk will be released on EMI worldwide in Spring 2008. The album encompasses songs from the brothers' more dreamy sides; a soft melancholic full-length that features only the duo. Another project of theirs, Fashion Victims, has taken the Scandinavian club charts with storm with the first single "Koochi Koochi" (Gucci Gucci).
Their use of aliases is creating quite the buzz amongst the underground scene, and the half brothers intend to retain the secret identities, allowing for the mystery to grow. Their private label, ArtiFarti, continues a stream of house and electro releases, as well as their joined label with Jerome Sydenham called Avocado Records which releases the collaborative efforts between the two camps.
