"Indestructible," the fourth album from multi-platinum hard-rock band Disturbed, is the best-selling album in the country this week, debuting atop the Billboard Top 200 album chart at No. 1 and racking up sales of more than 253,000 copies in the U.S. alone. "Indestructible's" first-week figures have surpassed the first-week total sales of the band's previous No. 1 release, 2005's "Ten Thousand Fists," by more than 15,000 units -- an impressive feat amid a challenging sales climate in the music industry. Disturbed self-produced the album, which is the Chicago quartet's third consecutive No. 1 album, making them one of only six other rock bands in history to earn three straight No. 1 debuts with studio albums.
The band's two previous platinum albums, 2002's "Believe" and 2005's "Ten Thousand Fists," both debuted at No. 1. Disturbed's 2000 debut album, "The Sickness," has been certified triple-platinum by the R.I.A.A. with sales closing in on four million. Formed in Chicago in 1996, Disturbed has sold a collective 10 million albums worldwide -- a testament to both their talent and loyal fan base.
"Indestructible" also debuted at No. 1 in Internet album sales, and No. 2 in digital album sales, and did brisk business in pre-order album sales at BestBuy.com and Amazon.com, iTunes and the band's official website, disturbed1.com. Internationally, "Indestructible" charted at No. 1 in Canada and New Zealand, debuted Top 20 in the U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Japan and is expected to be Top 5 in Australia.
"Indestructible's" first single, "Inside The Fire," is in its seventh week at No. 1 on Billboard's Active Rock radio and in its sixth week at No. 1 on Mediabase's Active Rock chart with no sign of slowing down on either chart. Recently added at influential Los Angeles radio station KROQ, "Inside the Fire" is the band's sixth Number One track at that format and fastest-rising chart-topper to date. Disturbed's previous No. 1 singles are "Down With the Sickness," "Prayer," "Liberate," "Stricken," and "Land of Confusion." The video for "Inside the Fire" is currently in rotation on the Fuse network's main playlist and a fixture on MTV2's Rock Countdown. The band will perform the song live on Spike TV's "Guys' Choice Awards" airing on June 22nd.
Disturbed, which is singer David Draiman, guitar player Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren and bass player John Moyer, is known for its punishingly powerful music and Draiman's passionate, socially conscious lyrics. The band performed for the troops in Kuwait on March 10th as part of Operation MySpace, which has been streamed over 2.7 million times on MySpace, where Disturbed is the social networking site's most-trafficked rock band. On May 29th, Disturbed performed online at Deep Rock Drive in Las Vegas to a worldwide viewing audience logging in from 70 different countries, with a record breaking over 1.3 interactive events during the broadcast. The band is Xbox LIVE's Artist of the Month for June.
The band is currently the cover story of Revolver, Guitar World, Drum! and Metal Hammer magazines, and will also be featured on Revolver's cover next issue as part of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival Tour issue, and will be the cover of Metal Edge's August issue.
Disturbed is now on tour in Europe in support of "Indestructible," and will kick off a co-headlining stint on this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival beginning July 9th in Seattle.

Reprise Records will release the fourth album from chart-topping hard-rock band Disturbed, titled "Indestructible," which the band self-produced, on June 3rd. "Indestructible" is the follow-up to the Chicago quartet's 2005 RIAA-certified platinum "Ten Thousand Fists."
Disturbed, which is frontman David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren, and bassist John Moyer, will co-headline the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, a riotous road show featuring some of hard rock's most influential artists. Disturbed will join Slipknot, Dragonforce, and Mastodon on the mainstage. The tour kicks off July 9th in Seattle and hits 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
The band played for the troops in Kuwait this month as part of a special concert called Operation MySpace, which was a groundbreaking live concert event for those serving in the Middle East. A condensed one-hour version of the show's best moments will be broadcast nationally on the FX television network on April 12th.
Disturbed singer David Draiman told The Pulse of Radio that his band has wanted to play for American soldiers for a long time. "You know, we've been wanting to get involved in something supporting the troops on some level, and when this Operation MySpace opportunity came up and was presented to us, we jumped on it," he said. "I mean, we've been wanting to give back to the troops for some time, for everything that they do for us and for all that they sacrifice. If they're willing to sacrifice their lives, we're certainly willing to sacrifice our time."
Known for their punishingly powerful music and Draiman's passionate, socially conscious lyrics, Distrubed has sold a collective 10 million copies worldwide of their three albums - 2000's RIAA-certified triple-platinum "The Sickness," 2002's chart-topper "Believe," and their second consecutive Number One "Ten Thousand Fists" since forming in 1996.
In a recent interview with RollingStone.com, Draiman stated about single "Inside the Fire", "That's a real racy song. It's about me standing over the body of my girlfriend, who just killed herself, and the Devil is standing over me, whispering in my ear to kill myself."
The band has posted a snippet of another new song, titled "Perfect Insanity", on its MySpace page. The track is supposed to appear on "Indestructible", which will be a heavier, angrier, more aggressive record than either 2005's "Ten Thousand Fists" or 2002's "Believe", according to Draiman. He's also hoping for a more "aggressive" marketing campaign to get the word out about the set, saying, "We will continue to try and do things, and we're still going to do things this record cycle as well, to try and make it where there's a reason to buy it that's beyond what we're doing just musically."
Draiman told MTV.com that he's had rough couple of years, which will most likely be reflected in some of the new music. He said, "All kinds of horrible stuff went on. Bad breakups; I've had my garage burn down with all of my vehicles in it; I had a bad motorcycle accident that took off a whole bunch of skin from my forearm... just bad luck. It's been a fierce past couple of years."
Other songtitles set to appear on "Indestructible" include "The Night", "Run", "Deceiver", "Enough" and "Torn". There's also the title track, which Draiman calls "an anthem for soldiers" specifically American soldiers fighting overseas. "It's meant to be something that would make them feel invincible, take away their fear, make them strong," Draiman told RollingStone.com. "And that's what this whole body of work on this record does. It's music to help you feel strong."
