Dinosaur hip-hop has never been cooler than on the April 1st release of ‘Baby Loves Hip Hop,’ a collaboration between hall of fame hip-hop producer Prince Paul and some of rap music’s most celebrated MCs. Part book on tape (narrated by Grammy winner poet Ursula Rucker) and part Broadway show (Chris Rock just optioned the story), ‘Baby Loves Hop Hip’ follows five best dino friends on a musical adventure as they teach key life lessons and have fun at the same time. The result is a prehistoric musical masterpiece for both kids and their parents!
The DINO-5 is: MC T-Rex (Chali 2na of Jurassic 5); Tracy Triceratops (Lady Bug Mecca of Digable Planets); TEO Pterodactyl (Scratch from The Roots); Billy Brontosaurus (Wordsworth); and DJ Stegosaurus (Prince Paul). Special guests Dave and Pos of De La Soul join the fun on the song “Jump Jump.”
Started by music entrepreneur and Ropeadope Records founder Andy Blackman Hurwitz in 2005, the Baby Loves Music series was created to assist parents in introducing their children to different genres of music without dumbing-down the material. Released in September 2006, the first in the series ‘Baby Loves Jazz’ was dubbed the “best kids’ record in years” by Entertainment Weekly and garnered several awards including the prestigious American Library Association award for “notable children’s recording of the year” and the NAPPA Gold Medal. Hurwitz also launched the wildly successful phenomenon “Baby Loves Disco.” Upcoming 2008 Baby Love releases include ‘Baby Loves Salsa’ (produced by the Spanish Harlem Orchestra) and ‘Baby Loves Disco’ (produced by King Britt).
