Daughters Of Mara will enter the studio in April to begin recording their debut album with producer GGGarth Richardson (Mudvayne, Rage Against The Machine). The as-yet untitled effort will be released late summer/early fall on Virgin Records. Daughters Of Mara have made available a free 3-song demo on their MusicRemedy video page[see left menu - 'Audio & Video'].
Los Angeles-based Daughters Of Mara are determined to give us something new. Tired of canned lyrics, false emotion and the "Hollywood fashion show", Daughters Of Mara give us an unfiltered look at life being broken, fixed and broken again. Their music is honest and unclouded. One moment is incredibly violent. The next is eerily subdued. Punishing guitar riffs are blanketed by soaring vocal harmonies, and drums swing wildly between blast-beats and whispers. D.O.M.'s lyrics are forward and unflinching, and they paint a vivid picture of the struggles we all live with everyday. This honesty is a breath of fresh air in a world full of lies, and their knack for breeding aggression with beauty is the perfect vessel for its delivery.
