A man as bruised and as beaten by life as Chrisopher Blue could have been down for the count long ago. The Seattle music scene that surrounded him for years never incorporated him, the jail cell that surrounded him one fateful night hardly complemented his situation, and the songs inside of him were struggling to find their way out. But a chance encounter with one of his former band-mates reinvigorated Blue’s muse and Blue’s motivation. All it took was a few inspiring words and he was ready to take all of the demons swirling around in his past and turn them into the melodic masterpiece that is Room Tones, his new full length album out on Sarathan Records.

Lead-off track “Ghost In The Night” is dripping in the darkness of Blue’s past, beginning with splashy, spiky snare drum and night-club keyboards, but Blue’s survival instinct wins out, cutting the desperation of the lusty lyrics with mesmerizing chord changes and a vocal delivery full of swagger.
