“F**k that. That sounds stupid. We're still breaking up," described Bright Light Fever vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Evan Ferro of his reaction when word broke that Stolen Transmission Records wanted to sign his band. “I thought I was getting punk'd.”
For the members of the band, the luck of getting a record deal wasn’t immediately welcomed with open arms. After a few years of making a name for themselves in their hometown of Placerville, California, Bright Light Fever were on the verge of breaking up. Sensing this, Evan did double duty by doing vocals in his brother Matt’s band Supermodel Suicide as well. He was mere minutes away from quitting his former band and jumping into this band full time when the phone rang in late 2005.
