Brian Ray is Paul McCartney’s guitarist, bassist and backup vocalist. Previously he spent 14 years as Etta James’s musical director and guitarist, sharing stages with legendary musicians such as Keith Richards, Santana, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley. Besides his appearances with James and McCartney on stage (including two Super Bowls), TV and DVD, Ray has contributed to albums by Shakira, The Bangles, and Adam Cohen and collaborated with the likes of Peter Frampton and Rita Coolidge. He also notably co-wrote Smokey Robinson’s 1987 smash hit “One Heartbeat” (pop Top 10) which is nearing 3,000,000 airplays and became the title of Robinson’s gold album. Mondo Magneto is Ray’s long-awaited debut solo album.
