Born, raised, and still living in streetlight less Western Washington town (population less than 1000), Brandi Carlile, is well on her way to becoming the biggest star to ever rise out of the burgeoning metropolis.
At the age of 8, family gatherings included song sessions lead by Brandi's mom, "Mom T". Brandi's brother, Jay, was her first musical cohort, harmonizing together in their high school band, Shed.
While that band ran its course, and Brandi's high school experience fell to the waist side, she started formulating a sound of her own, writing songs rich in the kind of wisdom and poignancy usually reserved for musicians beyond her years.
Phil Hanseroth (bass player, vocals, song writer) & Tim Hanseroth (guitar, vocals, song writer)
Formerly of the Fighting Machinists (a band the twin’s co-founded) Tim and Phil Hanseroth, both Seattle natives, add their touch to the Brandi Carlile Band playing lead guitar and bass, respectively.
Twin brothers began their musical endeavors around ages 14 & 15, when they began poking around the instruments lying around their house. A year later they founded while in high school, Chuzpah.
Later, with the need to be a bit more serious musically, the boys founded the Fighting Machinists. Both are meticulously dedicated to crafting songs which are both emotive and accessible in nature. These skills lead to the Fighting Machinists’s brief stint on Interscope records.
Tim’s and Phil’s performance and writing ability have been likened to a range of styles: from Queen to Love Light Show to Third Eye Blind.& The twin’s strongest influences: AC/DC, the Posies, the Romones, Neil Young and Ween.
