Fans across the pond (i.e. Europe, UK) were lucky enough to indulge in Sheffield's 65daysofstatic's second long player One Time For All Time last year. And, oh how they sang its praises: four stars in Kerrang and high praise from Rock Sound and The Wire, among many others. Now, those waiting with bated breath in the States finally get a chance to delve in to this refreshing gene-splice of electronic glitch and guitar girth. What if Squarepusher joined a post-hardcore incarnation of Mogwai? Maybe you'll find answers here, but 65daysofstatic's speaker-frying blend of instrumental fury and ambience is a product of its own rich imaginations. The album's futuristic tone makes for a perfect score for an unwritten sci-fi epic, with the frenetic drums reaching a ridiculous pace keeping up with the machines in the back all the while guitars blaze and synths slice. The next step in post-everything is on One Time For All Time. All tracks clean.

Melding seamless guitar shapes with ferocious drum ‘n bass styled beats, live drums and c-c-c-computer g-g-g-g-glitch, 65daysofstatic create the soundtrack to a new dimension, where rock, dance and electronica are equals.

Following the European release of their widely acclaimed debut album ‘The Fall of Math’ in 2004, Sheffield’s 65daysofstatic spent several months touring the UK, playing to packed venues and festival tents.

They recorded three radio sessions for BBC Radio 1 - one of the last ever, for the late John Peel, Zane Lowe and a ‘live from BBC Maida Vale Studios’ 40-minute set for Huw Stephens. They were also ‘artists in residence’ on John Kennedy’s XfM XPosure programme.

With the release of their second album, ‘One Time For All Time’, in October 2005, 65daysofstatic further cemented their position as one of the most innovative bands to emerge in the UK, with their groundbreaking blend of drum’n’glitch beats, walls of guitar noise, broken laptop clicks and overwhelming melody. A relentless touring schedule in the UK and mainland Europe has seen them share stages with the likes of Mono, Wolf Eyes, Hundred Reasons and Mogwai. They headlined the Kerrang! Stage at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, followed by a headline Kerrang! ‘Most Wanted’ sponsored tour. This summer they have played numerous festivals in the UK and mainland Europe, and also performed at the Summersonic Festival in Tokyo and Osaka.

‘One Time For All Time’ was written on and between tours and is a mixture of confusion, guilt, exhaustion and anger. Furious drum’n’glitch beats collide with walls of guitar noise, broken laptop clicks and tranquil pools of piano. There are still no words. The band are still trying to articulate all that stuff that no-one’s really invented words for yet. Senses are pulled in every direction - this is not a happy album - yet the overall effect remains an uplifting experience…
